앨범쟈켓사진을 보고 듣게 되었다.

평소에 탈색머리성애자라고 할만큼 탈색한염색머리를 좋아한다.

나 자신이 하기에는 어울리지 않는, 내 욕심으로 해버린다면 타인에게 시각적 폭력을 행사하는 것이나 다름없기에 포기한 영역이다.

그렇기에 탈색한염색머리를 보면 내가 도달하지 못할 영역이기에 달에 착륙한 지구인을 본 것처럼 신비롭다.

 

그룹이름부터 특이하다.

이채언루트라니.

신현희와 김루트가 떠오르지만 두 그룹의 음악색깔은 전혀 다르다.

바이올린과 베이스로 구성된 아주 신선한 조합이다.

 

사실 바이올린과 베이스로 구성되었다는 것도 신기한데, 이채언루트에게 매혹된 것은 결국 보컬인 강이채의 목소리 때문이다.

바이올린을 전공한 그녀의 목소리는 그녀의 머리색만큼이나 몽환적이다.

한국말로 녹음한 '달데이트'를 비롯해서 그녀의 발음에서 오는, 다른 이들과는 확연히 구별되는 지점이 있다.

사운드 구성 자체도 신선한데, 목소리까지 돋보이니 계속 듣게 된다.

 

머리를 탈색하거나, 바이올린을 연주한다는 것, 둘 다 손 뻗으면 닿을 수 있는 영역이지만 그곳에 도달하기 위해서는 단순한 실행 이상의 큰 결심이 필요하다.

언제부터 이렇게 도달할 수 없는 영역이 많아진걸까.

선택과 집중이라는 말을 이에 대한 핑계처럼 쓰고싶지는 않다.
